![]() The Blame Game - Downgrading the White House
![]() The White House has determined to blame the downgrade in US credit on a)The Tea Party and b)Standard & Poor rating agency.
No where was there any room for blame on the White House. No where did the White House suggest that reckless and wanton spending for the last 5 years might be some of the problem. In the midst of a stock market free fall today, President Barack Hussein Obama showed up to a "talk" to the nation 50 minutes later than scheduled. The market fell 500 points on Thursday, August 4, 2011. Thirty US Navy Seals were killed in a helicopter crash on August 6, 2011. The nation's credit rating was downgraded from AAA to AA+ for the first time in history on August 5, 2011. Yet it was only today, 50 minutes past schedule, that Obama showed up to say anything to the nation about these historical events. The Dow Jones was down about 300 points when Obama finally spoke to the nation today. It ended down over 600 points for the day. It seems that investors, the Tea Party, the S&P and businesses understand what the White House won't admit - the US has a debt problem caused by a spending problem. Sustaining present spending levels over coming decades while maintaining current levels of debt would mean nearly doubling every federal tax: income, payroll, inheritance, excises, etc. It's not a tax problem. It's not that there are rich people whose wealth Obama has still not managed to distribute. It's a spending problem based mostly on a)a ridiculous $800 billion stimulus b)entitlement programs and c)a Congress that can't stop spending. Though Democrats controlled the White House, the Senate, and the House of Representatives from 2008-10, and therefore could have forced through any budget they saw fit, they left the nation with no budget at all - much less a reformed or balanced one - never bothering to pass one in the year before they lost their House majority. How can the nation "live within its means" as Obama speechifies over and over, when a Congress won't even bother with a budget? The President put together a committee to make recommendations - his economic council - then he totally ignored what they recommended. Republican Paul Ryan put together a plan to slash government spending. The Democrats and the President waved it off and then ridiculed it. Next the Republicans put forth Cut, Cap and Balance. This legislation offered immediate cuts, capped spending and asked for a Balanced Budget Amendment to be sent to the states. The House of Representatives approved it and sent it to the Senate, where Harry Reid refused to put it up for a vote. And all these economic woes are narrowed down to blaming the "tea party" and the S&P? Rasmussen reports that 29% of those surveyed believe the "Tea Party" have been terrorists during the budget debates. I guess that means that there are some Americans who will believe any label their party throws on someone with whom they disagree. How can people be called terrorists for simply representing the people who elected them? The Tea Party's ideals are to stop wanton government spending, to stop the growth of government and to support an environment where businesses can grow and create jobs. Yet standing for those ideals gets the label "terrorists" from an administration who invented "Man-caused disasters" because they couldn't even say the word terrorists! UPDATE HotAir now has a post on the dichotomy of the White House's argument blaming the Tea Party. Throw a lot of mud at the wall and some of it sticks I guess. ![]() Read more | 1 comments

![]() Dolls in 3 Races For CO Daycare
![]() The Colorado Department of Human Services is suggesting that all CO day-care centers be required to furnish dolls in 3 races. IF that's not silly enough, they are also proposing how much juice children are allowed to drink and limiting TV time to a mere 20 minutes per day.

![]() Recession Emerging
![]() The American people, paying rising gas and food prices had absolutely no idea, but Barack Hussein Obama has announced that the recession is over!
Having emerged from the worst recession in generations, the President has put forward a plan to rebuild our economy and win the future by out-innovating, out-educating, and out-building our global competitors and creating the jobs and industries of tomorrow.and for that reason, Barack Hussein Obama wants to spend more while trying to convince you it's less! ![]() Read more | comments

![]() Kinetic Military Action
![]() You and I, the American people, were not aware of it, but the flyover operations bombing strategic Libyan targets, is not war. Rather, according to the White House spokesman, it's a Kinetic Military Action! Where's the Overseas Contingency Operation?
Time calls it the Goldilocks military plan! ![]() Read more | comments

![]() Carbon Footprints
![]() Here's another example (one of many) of a blow hard on climate control who wants the average American to give up colored borders on their napkins for the sake of the carbon emissions.
That's right, Michelle and Barack Hussein Obama fly their personal trainer to DC from Chicago every week, but you and I need to curb our driving by using car pools! It seems that those that preach the loudest, are the most guilty for spewing unnecessary carbon. ![]() Read more | comments

![]() Living Within Our Means
![]() Last week, Obama suggested that the government finally had to do what families do - live within our means. And just to be clear on what that phrase means, Obama submitted a $3.7 Trillion budget to Congress today.
Obama's budget predicts a $1.1 trillion "deficit saving" over the next decade - but this would start only after another 4 years of reckless spending. During that Obama decade the deficit would raise to $7.21 trillion! And, that only if everyone sticks to the current Obama plan and raises taxes! In 2011 our deficit will raise to $1.65 trillion! Obama's proposals only raise that deficit for the next 5 years. And following that claim to "live within our means", Obama plans $14 billion for a "bullet" train ($8 billion from "Stimulus" funds, $1 billion per year for another 5 years). ![]() Read more | comments

![]() A Ticking Time Bomb
![]() HotAir reports on a report by Senate Homeland Security Committee regarding the Ft. Hood shootings by Nidal Hasan.
The bottom line is that Hasan only received glowing evaluations because of political correctness. He was clearly not performing at officer level. He was retained and literally ignored in the military because of political correctness. Come to think of it - isn't this what we also see at airports these days? Granny gets strip searched, Arab males between 17 and 50 get free passes and ushered around security check points. Read the article and weep for America. ![]() Read more | comments

![]() Taxpayer Funded NPR Firing of Juan Williams
![]() Bill O'Reilly is right, NPR's taxpayer funding should be revoked immediately! First and foremost their treatment of Juan Williams; secondly for taking over $1 million in funds from George Soros. The Soros money shows NPR is liberally biased. The firing of Juan Williams shows a disregard for freedom of speech, and solidifies that NPR was just looking for a way to fire anyone having anything to do with Williams.
UPDATE And it's started: Conservative Republican Senator Jim DeMint of South Carolina today announced plans to introduce legislation stripping federal funding from National Public Radio and the Public Broadcasting Service....Taxpayers should not be forced to support NPR since it insists on a liberal agenda. ![]() Read more | comments

![]() Vessels of Opportunity
![]() General Allen, in his briefing on the Gulf Coast oil spill this morning, demonstrated that the US Government has been "fully engaged" in making new keyword phrases. General Allen used this term so many times in his briefing today that had his speech gone on a web site, Google would deny it ranking due to spam.
Vessels of Opportunity = Boats of fisherman who have lost all opportunity to fish this year, now have the "opportunity" to clean up the massive oil spill. Only problem is that many of the vessels of opportunity turn out to be large pleasure boats that are stealing even that "opportunity" from fishermen. It's uncanny how someone works so hard to change a disaster into wonderful little sound bites like "vessels of opportunity". ![]() Read more | 1 comments
