Another Shocka! Obama Admin Colluded On Net Neutrality
Americans have been taught from cradle to grave that the difference in our government is that it is "of the people, by the people and for the people". Under the Obama administration - not so much.

We learn today that the US Government under Barack Hussein Obama colluded with the outside left-wing group, Free Press to give the government more control over the Internet.
The evidence of coordination between FCC Democrats and Free Press uncovered by Judicial Watch includes:

Emails between former Free Press president John Silver and Democratic FCC Commissioner Michael Copps from October 2010, coordinating "how we'd like to proceed during these next three months on NN [net neutrality]."

Documents summarizing a phone call between Silver and Copps in which, before an FCC vote on the proposal in November 2010, Silver "emphasized that a strong net neutrality rule is critical to preserving the Internet as a vibrant forum for speech, commerce, innovation and cultural expression."

Correspondence between FCC Special Counsel David Tannenbaum and Free Press Policy Director Ben Scott coordinating speakers for a taxpayer-funded series of FCC "internet workshops" that were intended to generate public support for the proposal.
Read the rest of the article to learn just how left leaning (hint: Marxism) Free Press is by learning about their other endeavors.

Then ask yourself if this collusion fits the Constitutional phrase "of the people, by the people and for the people".

Wave Bye-Bye to Freedom of Speech
Obama and his Federal Communications Commission Chairman Julius Genachowski have found a way to deal with all those blogs out there that are taking money away from Newspapers and actually reporting the news. Genachowski will announce that the Federal Government will take over "regulation" of the Internet. Obama will follow up with a speech praising the idea. But this is the thing that discloses their hand:
"We couldn't give them a Guantanamo shut down, or ending the Patriot Act, so this is the immediate payoff to MoveOn and Free Press and the those guys who worked so hard for us during the campaign," says a White House source. "Getting 'net neutrality' codified and under out control was at the top of their list of things for us to do."
Yep, another payback for those who worked to elect Barack Obama. Seems like ACORN getting stimulus funds and the NEA going to work to push O's policies along with thirty some Czars was enough payback.

An FCC staffer tells us we should be very afraid if Net Neutrality (the harmless little name the Free Press, a George Soros backed association, assigned this bill) passes. One needs only look at who is behind this bill to know that it is something we don't want and something that again is meant to control who gets to speak and what they may speak about. Read the full article for a disclosure of the ties behind this legislation. It's scary.

1&1 Registrar Steals Patterico's Domain
You can read the story here but it should certainly warn everyone who uses this registrar.

The basic story as I read it is that Patterico had a billing dispute with 1&1 where they registered their domain name. However, prior to the domain renewal date the billing dispute was resolved however the owner of the registration found their account continued to be closed several days before the renewal date. The domain registration owner was told to open a new account and transfer the domain name which he did. The next thing he knew, his domain name was being auctioned by a company in bed with the 1&1 registrar!

There are, unfortunately unscrupulous businesses every where. When our politicians and the MSM set the standard of lying and cheating, guess some businesses find the method attractive.

I do hope Oliver Mauss, 1&1 Internet CEO, finds his new found publicity well worth the $5,000 he made on the stealing of a domain registration.

Blogging is Public - There's Scum Out There
The blogesphere got yet another couple of lessons today.
Blogs are public

There are tons of scum bags out there

Some will do anything to "win" the argument, including personally assassinating others and their name.

Once smeared, it's hard or impossible to restore your reputation.

What Happened?

Death threats against bloggers are NOT "protected speech" (why I canceled my ETech presentations)

Of course just last week we had people laughing over the comments made about Vice President Dick Chenny and being sorry that a terrorist attack missed him. Of course that's not to make light of the death threats to Kathy Sierra. No one, absolutely no one has any excuse for making nasty, filthy personal remarks about another person. No one should have to endure that type of filth and any blog that allowed that type of language and threats to remain without reporting it immediately to the proper authorities is also in the wrong.

Of course Kathy Sierra is only the tip of the iceberg on bloggers who have received death threats and filth - not for anything they did, but rather for their speaking out and voicing their opinions. Michelle Malkin and other female bloggers have been openly attacked.

Note again, it's not their opinion being attacked. Both are big girls and can take care of themselves when it comes to standing on issues.

Then we have another side.

A blog (we've removed the link because the blogger apparently regretted her decision and took the blog down) written by a well known and loved speaker to the web design world. Today, she pours out her heart regarding a love affair gone bad which has pushed this blogger to the absolute brink. All of us who love and care about her, we can feel her pain and only hope for her well being.

Was this the "right" way to handle her hurt? That's for the blogger to decide. But I certainly can understand being so absolutely devastated that you want to strike back; that you want to reach out and hurt anything and everything that has made you hurt so deeply inside.

So in conclusion, the Internet is a big place. It affords many of us a very real way to express our thoughts, feelings and frustrations. But sometimes it can be just too public. Amongst the vast number of real people, there is scum. Scum that will write, say and do anything to get what they want. They care not for how their actions and words hurt others. They care not that real live people are bleeding, hurting and have had their lives made into hell by this scum.

The Internet is not this big anonymous place full of fictional characters. While many take on a fictional persona, this does not give them the right to be hateful, filthy and threaten others.

2,996 A Tribute to the Victims of 9/11
We encourage our readers to consider being part of Project 2,996. On September 11, 2006, bloggers who have signed up will each write about the life of one person who died on 9/11/2001. This is a celebration of their life.

Sign up and be randomly assigned the name of a person. Using information avialable through Google, Yahoo or other search engines learn as much as you can about this person and then on September 11, 2006, present a blog, celebrating their life.

Speaking of 9/11, We watched the World Trade Center movie this weekend. I saw Flight 93 and handled it pretty well. The same was not true with World Trade Center. Somehow it all hit home again. I could feel the pain of those families as they waited to find out if their loved ones were dead or alive. I felt the anguish of rescurers as they searched through the rubble, trying to find just one life to save. And I could see the vast numbers of people who totally changed by this event in American History. I also saw how much we've forgotten or put on the "back burner", how close Americans became and how much we've pulled apart since then.

May the 2,995 Tribute bring us back into focus.
