April 15, 2009 Tea Parties
Tea Parties are being planned across the USA for April 15, 2009. Michelle Malkin gives an update reminding us of Tea Party Gear.

MarshBaby a graphic artist, has taken the time and trouble to prepare some possible signs (.pdfs) for download (FREE) which can be taken to your local copy shop for printing on 11" x 17" card stock for about $2.00.

You can check for tax day tea parties near you at Tax Day Tea Party and/or follow Top Republican Conservatives at their site or on Twitter with hash mark #tcot. Shawn Hannity has just announced that he will broadcast from the Atlanta, GA tax day Tea Party. There's sure to be a big turnout.

Those in KS or MO near the Kansas City borders can get information about the KS/MO TeaParty here. The site includes suggestions for signs and directions to the Tea Party location as well as updates as needed.

Many may see this as a useless display for anger, frustration and passion. But there's more value than one might think in these demonstrations. First and foremost if thousands show up at each tea party, it will be much more difficult for the MSM and Congress to ignore or downplay our wrath. Elected officials make think twice before backing anymore of this absolute theft from taxpayers. Next, you become part of the movement that refuses to just sit and let this theft silently happen. If nothing else your grandchildren will know you fought against taxing them into oblivion. You get the opportunity to be connected with others who feel the same as you. Through those connections the next steps are planned. Trust me (who has attended two Tea Parties so far) it helps the frustration level to know that others are concerned and working toward recovering our Country.

Understand that this is not a "republican" or "GOP" party thing. It is a conservative spending thing. It has no partisan roots and we struggle to keep it that way. It's a grassroot movement to stop the US government's mindless spending and generational theft - regardless of party or fault.

United we stand, divided we fall. It will take every willing soul to overcome the tyranny being put on the people by this government's willingness to rush into socialism, killing everything our forefathers fought and died for.

Florida Government Cancels TeaParty
It's all over the blogs and Twitter this morning, a tea party organized for Cape Coral, FL was effectively canceled by the City Council by requiring a costly insurance policy.
Lynn Rosko planned to hold a tax payer tea party at Jaycee Park in Cape Coral on April 1st. The idea was announced at a Cape Coral City Council meeting, then an e-mail blast by the Republican Party and it was mentioned in the local media.

With all of that attention, the City of Cape Coral felt there could be more than 500 people attending the tea party.

Therefore Rosko needed to get a permit and insurance for the event. Rosko says she's not willing to get insurance and accept liability for something that a stranger could do. Rosko told WINK News, "I have rescinded any organizing or supervision or what ever you want to call it over this tea party on April 1st."
Can't blame the organizer. But the answer to this mess is not "organizing" a tea party; rather allowing people to spontaneously gather to express their opinions.

Along the same lines, Newt Gingrich invites people to the April 15, 2009 tea parties across the nation. Do it. Let's get the message out that we will stop this government madness.

Need a reason to get out and go to a tea party? How about the fact that if you have a job, with health care, you can expect not the tax break O promised but rather a huge increase in taxes.
Last month, the Congressional Budget Office estimated that the President's cap and trade energy tax would cost $1,600 per household annually in higher energy and transportation costs. Last week, the administration corrected a mistake in its budget materials, and revised the cost of cap-and-trade - tripled it to over $2 trillion. So make that cost $4,800 per household.

CBO also revised its estimate for extending health care coverage to the 46 million uninsured last week; that number was doubled, to $1.5 trillion. In case you missed it, the administration is now thinking about taxing your employer health care benefits to pay for it. The average employer provided insurance premium is $12,000 per year, so if you are in the 15% tax bracket, you will pay $2,000 more in federal and state income taxes.

Orlando, FL Tea Party
Orlando Tea PartyIt's not even the start time yet, and the Orlando Tea Party appears to have thousands in attendance. Go Orlando!

Update: An estimated 3,000 to 6,000 turned out in Orlando and it wasn't about AIG bonuses!

Local News managed to make it, estimated the crowd at 3,000. Also the Orlando Sentinel has a story, estimated crowd at 4,000. Whow, two media representatives at the same event! More coverage at Baker Street. Great pictures. Best sign has to be: Obama Bin Lyin'. More great pictures

Lexington, KY also held a tea party with crowd estimates of 1,200 to 1,300. More at Enraged Conservative.

Ridgefield, CT - approximately 200 to 300. Pictures

Raleigh, NC 300-400 people attended.

The tea parties now have a rally song. I think we can do better with something easier to follow but here it is for now.

Kansas Tax Day Tea Party
A protest is schedule in Overland Park, KS on April 15, 2009 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at the corner of College Blvd. and Quivira. The US Post Office has requested that protest not be held on their premises - especially since this is one of their busiest days - and protesters are reminded that our disagreement is not with the US Post Office or Johnson County Community College (JCCC). FairTaxKC is holding an event with JCCC the same evening. Please ensure that all people entering and leaving the college are able to do so without the protest impeding their progress.

In order not to pull people away from their previously planned event and to allow some of their members to attend our event, Kansas Tea Party organizers decided to hold this protest on the sidewalks surrounding the college. The group will be protesting a fiscally irresponsible government that will soon be turning to the citizens with tax increases.
