42 Catholic Dioceses, including NY, DC and the University of Notre Dame filed suit in 12 Federal Courts against the Obama administration. The suits allege the Obama administration violated the 1st amendment which provides freedom of religion by attempting to force religious institutions to provide contraceptive insurance benefits.

These Catholic institutions took the time and trouble to explain their position at Preserve Religious Freedom. While many of us may not be Catholic, it's still an important concept that every American is promised freedom to worship as they choose. ObamaCare has attempted to violate that freedom by mandating that all Americans purchase health insurance (that in itself violates religions that teach healing through faith). Later a mandate was added that all insurance policies provided by employers must include free contraceptives and abortion pills.
